Default The Masters RTE (3-27-10)

The 4th gathering of "The Masters RTE" will be March 27, 2010 at Sconyers Bar-B-Que http://www.sconyersbar-b-que.com/ in Augusta, GA. We'll start tire kickin' about 10:30 and have lunch in a private dining room at noon.

It's a great opportunity to shakedown your winter farkles, refresh your skills, and visit with other motorcyclists; many from the long distance riding community.

We need to give the restaurant an head-count. Please let me know if you can join us.

Hope to see you there!

That's great Theo! I can still see you and Dan Huber riding back on I-20 last year in that frog choker. You both displayed wicked riding skills and tremendous H2O tolerance.

We're working right now on the bonus locations for the Grand Tour of GA and will probably have them all verified before The Masters RTE. In fact, what are you doing tomorrow (yes, the RT mods are ready for a shakedown).

Call me!

Jim

Not sure yet, Jim. Probably somewhere on the east side of ATL. Would that work for you? Jim W.

Did you get my email with the info about those 3 locations we verified in February?

Question OOOooooOoooooogh...

Barbecue!

Let me look at my schedule....my last physical says that my Cholestorol was about 190 so I'm BBQ approved as long as I'm not singing with the angels or somesuch...Rode the bicycle today for an hour an ten minutes so that number should be heading down anyway.

Glorious weather yesh!

Sconyers serves up some delicious cooking. Cholestorol concerned folks might find the smoked turkey breast a great choice. It's one of my favorites.

One word of warning, however; the portions at Sconyers are very generous. Unless you're really hungry, or planning to take food home, the smaller plates are typically the best option.

Bill, yours might be the oldest bike at the Masters RTE. Although, there's a fellow from Florida, Richard Buber, who often rides up on a really, really, really old Goldwing.

It's always great fun seeing how others have setup their bikes for distance riding. The first time I ever saw a one gallon thermos mounted to a bike was in Augusta. Never will forget that.
