Perimeter of Georgia – 5 Corners Committee
Meeting Minutes
December 16, 2006
A meeting was held on December 16th, 2006 to consider the 5 Corners ride documentation submitted by Mr. Mark Davies, of Evans, GA. Committee members flew in from Committee Field Offices in Los Angeles, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Frankfurt, and Paris.
1. Meeting called to order at 0550 EST at World Headquarters in Roswell, GA
2. Roll was taken and all members were present.
3. Ride Documentation was received from Mr. Mark Davies on December 2, 2006. However, due to technical problems, namely software incompatibility, the Committee was unable to initially access Mr. Davies documents.
The matter was turned over to the IT Sub-Committee for review. Unfortunately, it was quickly found that the IT Sub-Committee is totally incompetent. Further it was found that the software incompatibility could not be resolved by the incompetent IT Committee.
The Committee determined the best course of action vis-à-vis the software problem is to submit to next Congress an earmark bill for funds to completely upgrade Committee’s computers and software. The Committee’s K Street, Washington, D.C. lobbying firm will be notified to put a high priority on passage of this earmark legislation. The Committee expects action to be taken by new Congress within the first 100 hours of taking office.
4. The Committee expressed appreciation for Mr. Davies patience and understanding of the unacceptable delay caused by the IT Committee’s technical incompetence. Mr. Davies upon being informed of the software problems made a supplementary document filing in a different format which was received on December 4, 2006. The Committee expressed appreciation.
5. Mr. Davies supplementary document file, after passing an initial security review by the McAffee Security Center, the Committee’s security consultant, was immediately turned over to the Ride Verification Sub-Committee.
6. The Ride Verification Sub-Committee reported that due to a recent heavy travel schedule and also because a majority of Sub-Committee members are now sick they are unable to review Mr. Davies document submissions at this time. The Mayo Clinic is being consulted.
7. The Ride Verification Committee representative expects to have the initial review completed within the next week but no later than December 29th when the Sub-Committee departs for international meetings held in Mumbai [Bombay], India. While in Mumbai the Sub-Committee will investigate the feasibility of outsourcing IT operations to the highly recommended Mumbai firm of Patel, Patel, Buster, Hawkes, Flood and Schmeisser, LLC. This firm is known to sometimes have internal disputes, but in the end they always seem to manage to turn out good results despite the disputes.
8. The Committee determined that Mr. Davies should be awarded Provisional Perimeter of Georgia – 5 Corners Provisional Finisher status, with an “*” placed after his name pending outcome of the complete review of Mr. Davies documents and a satisfactory background check by the Morals and Ethics Sub-Committee. Said Provisional “*” status shall expire in 30 days.
9. The Committee extended provisional congratulations to Mr. Davies for completing the Perimeter of Georgia – 5 Corners Ride. [Committee members broke out into a spontaneous provisional applause]
10. Upon satisfactory completion of the document verification, The Committee is considering a ride to Evans, GA for a personal presentation, with full Club honors, of the Perimeter of Georgia - 5 Corners Certificate to Mr. Davies. The Committee’s Travel Secretary and The Ceremony Committee have been notified. The Club Ride Captain will also be notified.
11. General discussion: The Committee is considering ways to revamp the Perimeter of Georgia – 5 Corners Ride. The Committee expressed a desire for, and specifically solicits, input on how to improve the Perimeter of Georgia – 5 Corners Ride.
One Committee member brought up 5 Corners Rider, Captain Zeitz’s suggestion that the ride be expanded to somehow include adjoining states. The Committee is reviewing Captain Zeitz’s suggestion, however, before further action can be taken, new issues regarding Captain Zeitz’s sordid past which have been uncovered by the Moral & Ethics Committee must be resolved. Captain Gould may be subpoenaed to testify at a Morals & Ethics hearing regarding Captain Zeitz.
12. A motion was made to adjourn, but before a vote could be taken there was a spontaneous standing ovation for Mr. Davies “*”, Perimeter of Georgia – 5 Corners Rider.
After order was restored the motion to adjourn was passed unanimously at 0650 EST.
Committee members then filed out and went back to bed.
Respectfully Submitted,
For the Perimeter of Georgia – 5 Corners Committee
