To the point: do the front rotors float on an 02 R1150RSA? Or are they fixed?
I need to replace the bolts that hold the rotors to the front wheel, as they have rusted. The rotors appear to NOT float. Or maybe the rust got to the floating mechanism?
Thanks.

I think that your rotors are free floating like mine. As you look at the bolt from the outside, you should see the bolt head, roll pin, wave washer, flat washer,... The wave washer lets the rotor float. This may help http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=0498&mospid=47993&btnr=34_1158&hg=34&fg=05

It's a quandary, as there is absolutely no play in those rotors. I realize that if they are supposed to float, they will move VERY little, as I have had BMW's with floateys.
But I swear this one does not have that feature. I will check with the experts.
Thanks.

They float. "Free-floating" might be an exaggeration, but they do float. Changed the rusty bolts, cleaned-up the stainless roll pins, replaced the wave washers, and kept the flat washers. The bike looks so much better. The rust was bothering me.
Thanks to all who helped: Buster, One Shot, and the guys at BMW of Atlanta.

I'm glad my feeble attempt helped.
