Hey, Kids -
I'd like to do the 5 Corners challenge, and I'm looking for riding buddies who might want to do it with me. If you're interested, let me know....we can work out the game plan together.
Any takers?

Nancy - any chance you could narrow down some dates?
Weekend or possibly week days?
Start point?

I'm looking at doing it over a weekend, maybe even a holiday weekend where I'll have time off from work. Weekdays won't work for me, since I probably won't be able to get the time off.

Nancy,
you may want to consider avoiding a holiday weekend. Three of the corners (Tybee Island, St. Marys and Dillard) are somewhat scenic places and may be crowded at a holiday weekend. I started my ride on a Friday evening and rode to Augusta. Then I "officially" started the tour on Saturday morning in Augusta and completed it easily by Sunday evening ...
The 5 corners tour is one of the nicest challenges currently conducted by the club. I am planning to do it again (this time only on Georgia roads) later in the year.

I would do it again. Having turned the state in a counter-clockwise fashion, I might consider unwinding the state clockwise. Maybe starting and finishing in Columbus would get Bill Haycock involved. I know an interesting hotel on Veteran's Blvd...... ;o
Weekends are a problem for the near future. Keep me posted on you plans.

Dear Captain Gould, 5 Corners Finisher In Good Standing:
Regarding the motel you refer to on Veteran's Blvd, The Morals and Ethics Sub-Committee is keeping an eye on you and your numerous comings and goings at said motel. Be reminded that only riders who maintain the highest Moral and Ethical standards may retain the right to the title of Perimeter of Georgia-5 Corners Finisher. Please act accordingly!
With regard to your Finishers Certificate, the matter has been turned over to the Postal Sub-Committee for delivery. The Postal Committee anticipates mailing of your framed certificate, and also the Certificate for Captain Zeitz, 5 Corners Finisher In Good Standing this weekend. However, Postal Sub-Committee members being in a somewhat "touchy" mood could not be pinned-down to an absolute guarantee of delivery this weekend. They said, " . . . [we'll] get around to it when [we] get around to it . . .]. Not wanting to risk antagonizing the Postal Sub-Committee, the Full Committee accepted the Postal Sub-Committee's vague assurances of prompt delivery of your's and Captain Zeitx's certificates.
