NEW LOCATION: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds

Some of the finest and twistiest roads in the southeast make this rally a must! The beautiful North Georgia Mountain location is in close proximity to Deal's Gap, the Cherohala Skyway, Wolf Pen Gap, Two Wheels Only (TWO), Brasstown Bald, Richard Russell Scenic Parkway, Blood Mountain (Hwy 129), Nantahala, Wyah Bald, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and much more.

Where exactly is the Rally?

The rally site this year will be at a NEW LOCATION, in Hiawassee, GA, on the shores of Lake Chatuge at the GA Mountain Fairgrounds Music Park (www.GeorgiaMountainFairgrounds.com (http://www.georgiamountainfairgrounds.com/) )! The site is on Hwy 76 West in Hiawassee (1311 Music Hall Road, Hiawassee, Georgia 30546). GPS Coordinates for rally registration are: 34 degrees 58.1275 min N, and 83 degrees 46.4655 min W
The rally fee of $45 includes 2 nights camping, rally pin for the first 400, poker run, awards, door prizes, Friday and Saturday dinners, campfire, and plenty of coffee to drink as well as shady campsites, hot showers, good food, great variety of vendors and door prizes, live music, bonfires, bike show, seminars, fun and fellowship. The location is convenient to all stores, restaurants, and shops in Hiawassee.
Pre-registration is $45 (postmarked by 4/1/09) or $55 at the gate. Early registration provides a chance to win the mystery door prize. Camping before and/or after rally dates requires separate fee(s) paid directly to the campground office, but a special rally rate is offered. RV Camping requires an additional fee of $10 per night during the rally and $20 per night prior to the rally.

Thanks, Jim. I did see that you had volunteered and have you on the list. Yes it will be nice to have you join us to set up. We plan to go up Wed and Thurs befor ethe rally as we did last yr. We have some complimentary camping for volunteers those days.

We will coordinate more later.

At last year's rally, Dave and Teresa Shepherd, along with Steve Smith, headed up the coffee-shop team. I owe them, along with those that helped them, another round of thanks, as they worked very hard and did a fabulous job. This is a tough responsibility, and may well be one of the most important rally jobs, as many probably come to the rally just to enjoy all the free coffee! Seriously, folks place a lot of importance on getting that cup of hot coffee when they need it, and we need a team that will make it happen like last year's team did.

Unfortunately, I have been informed that Dave and Teresa will not be able to take on that job this year. So...... we need someone to head up this coffee team, and some good volunteers to help out with it.
